For the first time, CannaReps is holding a seminar to teach people how to run a cannabis dispensary, ahead of legalization on Oct. 20.
The business course, set to run from Aug. 24 to 26 in Vancouver, will teach you “how to launch, grow and maximize the potential of a legal Canadian cannabis retail store,” and will be taught by experienced industry leaders.
“This course is packed with practical advice for your business success,” said Julie Domingo, seminar leader.
“During my 2.5 years as a dispensary manager, I was looking for guidance and couldn’t find a course that suited the Canadian market,” she added. “When talking to other dispensary managers, I saw that we could all have benefited from more support and a community platform to collaborate, and thus the idea of creating a course.”
Domingo said the seminar is “inspired by the knowledge and experience delivered by CannaReps,” noting she joined the team to bring her 13 years of retail experience to the help deliver the course.
The seminar aims to help entrepreneurs who want to open a dispensary; established dispensary owners who want to increase their impact and profits; as well as current or future managers who want their store to operate at a higher standard.
“There is a lot of interest as many entrepreneurs are looking forward to running their own dispensary, but never have done it before,” said Domingo. “We still have space for our Vancouver course, and our upcoming Calgary course in September is filling up quick.”
She noted there is a “clear need for a higher standard of product knowledge, customer service and professionalism without sacrificing a fun and compassionate environment.”
“We can help you, so you can best serve your customer, so that our industry wins as a whole,” added Domingo. “We call this a win-win.”
The three-day course will cover a variety of topics, from guidance through Canadian cannabis regulations, to winning marketing strategies, to dispensary profit models, to an “Ultimate Launch Checklist,” and more.Domingo said the seminar is “inspired by the knowledge and experience delivered by CannaReps,” noting she joined the team to bring her 13 years of retail experience to the help deliver the course.
