Now that Canada has legalized cannabis, the purpose and meaning behind
the annual 4/20 event have changed. Organizers say it’s a chance to
remember the harms of prohibition, honour those who fought to end it and
highlight the issues that still exist.

injustices that revolve around cannabis in Canada.” Actor Seth Rogen is joining calls for the Canadian government to expunge the criminal records of drug users who were convicted of simple cannabis possession.
- Open
up the application process for cannabis shops in Ontario and award new
retail licences on a merit basis, let people purchase cannabis directly
online from LPs and develop a common excise stamp, says a new report from Ontario Chamber of Commerce.
- Want to be a cannabis regulatory expert? Seneca College has launched
a one-year Cannabis Regulation and Quality Assurance program to provide
training in regulatory and quality assurance frameworks.
- Food for Thought: A new generation of growers specializing in Canada’s new star crop are looking to overhaul the industry with digital record-keeping and analysis. As CTV reports, Elevated Signals, a Vancouver-area startup has developed software to track cannabis crops at all levels, monitoring potency, yield, and growing conditions.
