As you kick off the week, here are five things making news in the cannabis industry:
- New Blog: Health Canada has introduced new cannabis licensing requirements. Critics say the changes will further restrict access for craft growers and enhance an uneven playing field that is already favouring large companies. Read more in our latest blog.

- Recreational cannabis has only been legal about six months, but Kwantlen University has been in the game for almost four years. - ICYMI: Starting this week, Quebec’s retail cannabis shops will be open all week. And, a new SQDC store will open its doors in Gatineau on May 22, bringing the total number of branches in the province to 15.
- Food for Thought: A group of vets is calling on the federal government to make cannabis legal for our four-legged friends. As CTV reports, they say it would take only a “few small changes” to add vets to the medical practitioners authorized to prescribe cannabinoids and to change references from people to patients, covering both the human and animal variety.
