- New Blog: Hope for Health: Removing Barriers and Empowering Patients; The first registered charity in the world focused on medical cannabis launched this week with a goal of empowering patients by helping Canadians overcome financial barriers to medical cannabis within the regulated market.
- “It moves us more towards the science of cannabis.” Aurora Cannabis is investing $1.5 million to upgrade research and development capabilities at its Saskatoon centre. The R&D investment has three areas of focus – analytical sciences, plant breeding and cultivation and plant-tissue culture. Global News has the details.
- “Older adults have the highest rates of many health conditions for which medical marijuana may be effective in moderating symptoms and are at elevated risk of reducing labor supply due to poor health.” James O’Hara with Canadians for Fair Access to Medical Marijuana is urging Canadian governments to see the economic benefits of medical cannabis for seniors.
- ICYMI: Statistics Canada is in talks with provincial regulators to obtain up-to-date information from cannabis retailers that would provide highly accurate sales data for the legal cannabis sector. Bloomberg has the details.
