NICHE says its aim is for thhe audience to walk away with a greater understanding of cannabis and the laws to promote evidence-based community conversations and to encourage them to explore potential ways they can get involved. Register today!
  • Ontario is set to get 50 more cannabis stores starting in October, and applicants will have to first show they have their finances and retail space ready to go. As CTV reports, The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario will hold a lottery on Aug. 20 for the next 42 retail store authorizations. Another eight stores will be located on First Nations reserves through a separate process.
  • Results from a new study out of the University of Saskatchewan showed medicinal cannabis oil containing both CBD and a small amount of THC can drastically reduce seizures in a small subgroup of children with severe, drug-resistant epilepsy.
  • The BC Small Cannabis Producer and Processor Co-Op has released their draft co-op rules. They provide guidance on the establishment, governance and membership of the co-op, and were created to reflect feedback from the 1st round of consultation. Check out the draft rules and find out where the next round of community meetings is taking place.
  • Food for Thought: “The world is moving in this direction.” The people behind a new Victoria, BC restaurant hope to eventually serve food and drink containing cannabis.
